Dear my fellow dedicated (and not so dedicated) RPers:

We, we are a dying breed. We all seem to have entered this magical world around the same time, in a simpler kind of cyber world, where chat rooms were popular and computer games were still mostly 2-D. When art, creativity, and creative writing were more highly valued than good graphics and prefabricated story lines. And we grew up together, a unique micro-society carving out our own little communities at the corners of the web, on increasingly less well-known websites. At first, there were plenty, and you could jump from one to the next, find one that suit your fancy. But slowly, people began to disappear, pulled away by real life, or by a loss of interest. And there never seemed to be anyone new to the game, just new to the site. And we all become closer-knit, concentrated on fewer and fewer sites as owners and players alike drift away. Now, it is my turn; a different life awaits me, as if I've grown up and now must face a strange, complicated real life and no longer have the time to escape into my dreams and these fantasy worlds. Ironic, isn't it, that when I need a way to relax the most, I have no time for it? I hope you all live on without me, as I know you will, but more importantly, I hope our unique little world survives despite all those we've lost, myself now included!

Well, one more down for the count. Farewell, and I wish you good luck (better than mine anyway), in this life and your real one!
